Myo Fascia Energetic Release
This is the treatment I am most passionate about. It goes beyond massage — working directly with the connective tissue where physical tension, emotional patterns and stored trauma live in the body.
A deeply restorative treatment that works with the body's connective tissue — the fascia — where physical and emotional tension accumulates over time. Through still, sustained pressure held for several minutes, the fascia begins to soften and unwind naturally.
As this releases, stored pain, stress and emotional holding patterns can shift, allowing the body to return to a more open, balanced state. This is not a typical massage. The work goes deeper, supporting the body to let go in its own time. The longer an area is held, the deeper the release.
Ideal for chronic pain, tension, emotional stress, fatigue, and anyone who finds it difficult to truly relax. For full body work, longer sessions and a course of treatments are recommended to fully support lasting change.
Releases stored trauma and emotional holding in the body
Works deeper than any standard massage technique
Addresses the root of chronic pain rather than the symptom
Physical, emotional and energetic release simultaneously
Profoundly calming for the nervous system
Results that last well beyond the treatment itself
Best experienced as a course for lasting change

No. Whether it is your first ever treatment or you have received massage regularly for years, you will be welcomed and looked after. A consultation is always carried out before your first treatment to understand your needs, health history, and what you are hoping to get from the session.
-
You will be professionally draped throughout your treatment — only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time. You will be asked to undress to your comfort level. Most clients undress fully or to underwear, but you are always in control. The studio is calm, warm, and private.
-
Most health conditions do not prevent you from receiving massage, though some require adaptations or medical clearance. During your consultation, you will be asked about your health history. If you are unsure whether massage is suitable for you, please get in touch before booking and we can advise you. Conditions such as recent surgery, active infection, blood clots, or certain skin conditions may require modifications or a temporary pause in treatment.

Yes — and this is a significant part of the work at LuceZen. Chronic pain is complex and rarely has a single cause. Massage — particularly deep tissue work, myofascial release, and sports massage — addresses the muscular, fascial, and nervous system components of chronic pain in ways that can produce significant and lasting relief. Many clients who have lived with pain for years find results through consistent bodywork that other approaches have not delivered.

Full body massage uses flowing, rhythmic strokes across the whole body and is primarily aimed at relaxation, circulation, and general wellbeing. Deep tissue massage uses slower, more focused techniques to work into the deeper layers of muscle and fascia — particularly effective for chronic tension, postural issues, and pain. Both are valuable. The right choice depends on what your body needs.
-
Deep tissue massage should never be painful in a damaging way. There is often a quality of pressure that clients describe as a good ache — the sensation of work being done in tissue that needs it — but this should always be within a comfortable range. Communication throughout the treatment is important, and pressure is always adjusted to suit you. Good deep tissue work is about precision and patience, not force.
-
Yes. As a qualified sports therapist, Lucy brings a clinical understanding of how muscles function under load, how injury and compensation patterns develop, and how to support recovery. Sports massage is available as a standalone treatment and as part of a broader management approach for both acute and chronic sports injuries.
-
Myofascial release is a specialist approach that works with the fascial system — the continuous connective tissue web that runs through the entire body. It uses sustained, gentle pressure rather than oil-based strokes, and works more slowly and deeply than conventional massage. It is particularly powerful for chronic pain, restricted movement, postural patterns, and tension that has not responded to other approaches. It is often integrated into treatments at LuceZen alongside other techniques.
-
Manual lymphatic drainage — MLD — is a specialist technique using specific, light, rhythmic strokes to stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage the drainage of fluid, toxins, and inflammatory waste from the tissue. It is used for post-surgical recovery, lipoedema, lymphoedema, chronic fluid retention, immune support, skin health, fatigue, and general detoxification. The results are often significant and felt quickly.
-
Post-surgical lymphatic drainage can often begin within a few days of surgery, though this depends on the type of surgery and your surgeon's advice. Early MLD significantly reduces swelling, speeds healing, and improves outcomes. If you are preparing for or recovering from surgery, please get in touch to discuss timing and what to expect.
-
Yes. LuceZen has experience working with clients living with lipoedema and lipolymphoedema. Manual lymphatic drainage cannot change the underlying fat distribution of lipoedema, but it significantly reduces the fluid component, eases heaviness and discomfort, and makes a meaningful difference to day-to-day quality of life. Please get in touch before booking so we can discuss your specific situation and ensure the treatment is right for you.
-
Specialist manual lymphatic drainage is one of the primary recommended treatments for lymphoedema and forms a core part of Complete Decongestive Therapy. It is safe and beneficial when performed by a therapist who understands the condition. Please get in touch before booking to discuss your history, and do ensure you are also working with a specialist lymphoedema service through your GP or hospital team.
