Why Every Workplace Should Have a Wellness Day

Workplace Wellness Days: Why Looking After Your Staff Is Good for People and Business

A workplace wellness day shouldn't be about ticking a box.

It shouldn't be a bowl of fruit in reception and an email telling everybody to remember to manage their stress.

A genuinely good wellness day gives employees something they rarely receive during a working day:

Time to look after themselves.

Employees Spend an Enormous Amount of Their Lives at Work

For many adults, work takes up a huge proportion of waking life.

So it doesn't make sense to treat wellbeing as something employees should manage entirely outside working hours.

Healthy workplaces still require people to do their jobs.

But they can also recognise that people perform those jobs using bodies and minds that need recovery.

What Could a Wellness Day Include?

At LUCEZEN, workplace wellness can combine three very different experiences.

Corporate Chair Massage

Short individual sessions focusing on common areas of tension such as the back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands.

Workplace Yoga

Accessible movement, mobility, breathing and stretching that can be adapted for different abilities and environments.

Sound Healing

A group crystal singing bowl sound bath creating an intentional period of stillness and relaxation.

Together, you have:

Movement.
Massage.
Stillness.

Why Massage?

Research suggests massage can support outcomes including pain, anxiety and short-term relaxation, while workplace-specific studies have explored its potential for neck and shoulder discomfort.

Why Yoga?

Yoga gives employees an opportunity to physically move after long periods of sitting while also incorporating breathing and mindfulness.

Why Sound Healing?

Sound baths create something completely different.

No movement.

No talking.

No screen.

Just an intentional period of stillness.

When combined, these experiences create different opportunities for employees to reset throughout the day.

A Wellness Day Shouldn't Feel Like Mandatory Fun

People have different personalities.

One employee might love yoga.

Another might hate it but love massage.

Someone else may be intrigued by sound healing.

That's why offering different experiences works so well.

You're not telling everybody there is one correct way to look after themselves.

You're giving them options.

Staff Wellbeing Isn't Just About Productivity

Of course, businesses care about absence, retention, engagement and productivity.

They have to.

But I don't think every wellbeing initiative needs to be justified solely by asking:

"How much more productive will this make somebody?"

Sometimes looking after staff is worthwhile because they're people.

And interestingly, organisations that genuinely recognise that often create better working environments anyway.

A Wellness Day Can't Fix a Bad Culture

This is important.

If your employees are overworked, underpaid, bullied or afraid to take lunch breaks, a wellness day won't fix that.

Workplace wellbeing has to start with how people are actually treated.

But once those foundations are there, wellbeing days can become a great way to reinforce the culture you're trying to build.

Turn Wellness Into Something Employees Actually Experience

It's easy to write “employee wellbeing is important” on a website.

It's different to give somebody 20 minutes in the middle of their working day where they can leave their screen and receive a massage.

Or an hour where a team can move and stretch together.

Or a sound bath where nobody needs anything from them.

That's when wellbeing stops being a policy.

It becomes an experience.

LUCEZEN Corporate Wellness Days

LUCEZEN brings corporate chair massage, workplace yoga and sound healing directly to businesses across Bradford, Leeds, Manchester, West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.

Your day can be created around your workforce, available space and schedule.

Book one service or combine all three to create a complete employee wellness experience.

Because sometimes one of the best things you can give your workforce isn't another incentive to do more.

It's an opportunity to stop, move, breathe and be looked after.
