Lymphatic drainage has become one of the most sought-after treatments in the health, beauty and wellness industry — but learning LDM should be about far more than memorising a massage routine.

On my Lymphatic Drainage Specialist Day, I teach you how to understand the lymphatic system, work with it safely and confidently, and deliver both Lymphatic Drainage Massage and LDM Sculpting professionally.

This is intentionally a small-group training day with no more than 3 students per class.

I want to be able to watch your technique, correct your pressure and positioning, answer your questions and make sure you genuinely understand what you're doing before you leave.

What Is the Lymphatic Drainage Specialist Day?

This is an intensive one-day practical training course held at my LuceZen studio in Shipley, Bradford.

Before attending, you'll receive your course theory and learning materials to study at home.

This covers the knowledge behind the treatment — including the lymphatic system, anatomy and physiology, lymph flow, lymph nodes and pathways, consultation, contraindications, red flags, treatment planning and professional practice.

That means when you arrive at the studio, we don't need to spend most of the day sitting around reading theory.

We can concentrate on actually learning to treat.

You'll watch demonstrations, practise the techniques yourself, receive treatments so you understand how the pressure should feel, and be continually guided and corrected throughout the day.

With a maximum of 3 students, this is hands-on training with plenty of individual attention.

What You'll Learn

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

You'll learn how to perform a complete lymphatic drainage treatment, including:

• Correct pressure, rhythm and pace

• Preparing and opening the lymphatic pathways

• Understanding lymph nodes and drainage directions

• Correct hand positioning and technique

• Treatment sequencing

• Working with different areas of the body

• Adapting the treatment to your client

• Creating a relaxing but effective treatment

You'll learn the why behind what you're doing, rather than simply copying a sequence.

Understanding the Lymphatic System

A good lymphatic therapist needs to understand the system they're working with.

Your home-study theory takes you through the lymphatic system from a beginner-friendly starting point, including:

Lymph and interstitial fluid · Lymphatic capillaries and vessels · Lymph nodes · Major node regions · Lymphatic territories · Lymphatic trunks and ducts · How lymph returns to circulation · Fluid balance · The immune system · Swelling and oedema · How movement and breathing influence lymph flow

The aim isn't to turn you into an anatomist.

It's to give you enough understanding to look at a body and understand where you are directing fluid, why you are working in a particular direction and why the sequence matters.

LDM Sculpting Method

You'll also learn my LDM Sculpting Method.

This builds on your lymphatic drainage knowledge and incorporates more focused body-sculpting techniques to create a treatment aimed at drainage, fluid retention and visible body contouring.

You'll learn how and when to move between traditional lymphatic work and sculpting techniques, rather than treating them as completely separate treatments.

This gives you another highly marketable service that can be offered independently or incorporated into your lymphatic treatments.

Consultation, Contraindications & Client Safety

Knowing when NOT to massage someone is just as important as knowing how to massage them.

Lymphatic drainage isn't appropriate for every client or every situation.

You'll learn how to carry out a proper consultation, recognise contraindications and identify information that needs further investigation before treatment.

We cover:

• Health and medical history

• Current illness and infection

• Unexplained swelling

• DVT and blood-clot concerns

• Cancer and medical clearance

• Heart and kidney conditions

• Skin conditions and wounds

• Pregnancy considerations

• Lipoedema and lymphoedema awareness

• Medication and previous surgery

• When treatment should be postponed

• When medical clearance may be required

• When a client needs to be referred elsewhere

You'll also learn how to use a consultation form properly.

If something is flagged on a client's consultation form, you don't simply ignore it and begin treatment.

You need to gather more information and determine whether it is safe and appropriate to treat. In practice, this can mean contacting the client before their appointment so that concerns can be discussed before they arrive.

Safe practice comes before completing a treatment.

This Is NOT a Post-Operative Lymphatic Drainage Course

This distinction is really important.

This course teaches general Lymphatic Drainage Massage and LDM Sculpting.

Although we discuss surgery and post-operative considerations as part of understanding contraindications and professional boundaries, this course does not qualify you in specialist post-operative LDM.

Post-operative clients require additional knowledge around surgical procedures, healing, complications and appropriate treatment protocols.

I teach this separately within my specialist post-operative training.

Small Classes. Proper Attention.

Maximum 3 students.

I've deliberately kept this course small.

Massage is practical. You can't properly learn pressure, hand position, body mechanics and movement by watching somebody demonstrate from the other side of a crowded room.

With no more than three students, I can spend time with each person individually.

I can see what your hands are doing.

I can correct your pressure.

I can reposition you.

I can answer your questions.

And you have time to practise until the movements begin to feel natural.

I would rather train three people properly than put large numbers through a course.
